Engineering Manager - AI Engineering & AI Platform (m/f/x)

In this Engineering Manager role, you will lead a new AI Engineering and AI Platform squad to bring AI capabilities into production at scale. You’ll translate AI concepts and data science ideas into scalable backend systems and cloud-native services. You’ll guide end-to-end delivery of AI use cases, shape the internal platform, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-value, production-grade AI solutions. • Build and lead the AI Engineering and AI Platform team and foster a self-organizing, autonomous culture
• Provide technical direction for AI/LLM services, backend systems, AWS architectures, Terraform, CI/CD, and agentic workflows
• Drive end-to-end delivery of AI use cases from ideation to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
• Shape the internal AI platform for model access, MCP server integrations, observability, governance, rate limiting, and cost management
• Collaborate with Data Science, Product, Engineering, Security, Platform, and business stakeholders to identify and deliver high-value AI initiatives
• Establish engineering best practices for reliable, secure, maintainable, production-grade AI systems
• Participate in recruitment to attract and onboard new team members

• University degree in a relevant field (or comparable qualification)
• Experience leading engineers in Engineering Manager, Team Lead, Tech Lead, or similar roles
• Strong understanding of scalable backend systems, cloud-native architectures, API design, and modern software development
• Knowledge of AI system integration, including LLM APIs, agentic workflows, and production-grade AI services
• Hands-on experience with Python, Docker, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and Infrastructure as Code (AWS and Terraform)
• Understanding of AI platform topics: observability, governance, data privacy, rate limiting, cost management, secure LLM usage
• Passion for people development, technical excellence, and building high-performing teams
• Strong analytical thinking and excellent communication with diverse stakeholders
• Extremely hands-on with ownership mindset
• Experience with LangGraph, LiteLLM, Langfuse, Datadog, MCP servers (or similar) is a plus
