Maintenance Manager Erfurt, RME (Reliability Maintenance Engineering) Team

You lead the technical site in Erfurt, overseeing all maintenance operations and building services to maximize equipment availability. You coach a cross-functional team, foster a proactive safety culture, and collaborate with the European Engineering Team to drive growth and standardization. You champion CBM and OEE-driven optimization while steering greenfield and brownfield projects to support Amazon Operations. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic site governance to elevate performance.

• Overall responsibility for the maintenance team and all automated sorting/conveyor systems, industrial trucks, and building services equipment
• Ensure maximum equipment availability and apply modern maintenance approaches (CBM)
• Cross-shift fault resolution for all technical systems
• Implement safety standards and proactive safety culture
• Promote continuous team development (hard and soft skills)
• Develop concepts for equipment optimization using Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
• Contribute to strategic decisions as a site leadership team member
• Lead and support technical greenfield and brownfield projects
• Plan and manage the site maintenance and repair budget
• Evaluate KPIs to analyze equipment and processes

• Engineering degree or technician qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field
• Several years of leadership experience managing maintenance teams
• Multi-skilled in electrical and mechanical disciplines
• Experience in industrial maintenance with automated systems (packaging machines, sorting/conveyor)
• Knowledge of modern maintenance concepts (CBM, TPM)
• Very good analytical skills
• Team player with strong presentation skills for complex topics
• Good analytical skills with structured and independent working style
• Fluent German and very good English proficiency
