Payroll Implementation Manager | Germany

In this role you will oversee global payroll implementations and data migrations for Deel’s clients, guiding the end-to-end setup from onboarding to go-live. You’ll work cross-functionally with internal teams and clients to align payroll processes, data requirements, and system configurations. The position offers visibility with senior leadership and a direct impact on customers’ ability to scale compliantly. • Set up project kickoff with onboarding team and clients; create and manage project plans for rollout
• Lead client and project management activities; coordinate scope changes and delivery timelines
• Define payroll processes and data requirements; manage client payroll calendars
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation including plans and status reports
• Configure interfaces, reports, and systems for parallel and live payroll in month 1–2
• Execute go-live sign-off and document client-specific needs; generate and analyze payroll reports
• Serve as primary client contact for payroll project matters; report status to senior leadership
• Oversee end-to-end implementation of global payroll systems; ensure on-time/on-budget delivery
• Gather client requirements across HR/Finance; guide technical onboarding of payroll
• Ensure compliance with local tax and labor laws; manage data migration from legacy systems
• Develop and execute testing plans; implement change management strategies
• Conduct regular project reviews and escalate risks, actions, issues, dependencies

• 5+ years in global payroll implementation and operations
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and compliance across designated location
• Experience with payroll systems and software
• Client-facing project management experience; ability to manage multiple projects
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
• Bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s preferred
