Principal Engineer - Product Marketing

In this role you drive the strategy, requirements, and business plans for Microchip’s automotive wireless SoC portfolio, spanning BLE, UWB, and evolving standards. You’ll lead product definitions from concept through launch, collaborating with systems, IP teams, and the automotive ecosystem. You’ll engage with industry consortia to shape roadmaps and enable the sales force with compelling technical narratives. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role at a global leader in wireless solutions.

• Own product business plans, requirements, and competitive positioning for automotive wireless SoCs (BLE, UWB)
• Define feature sets and trade-offs with engineering teams across hardware and IP blocks
• Maintain a data-driven product roadmap informed by customer needs and tech evolution
• Conduct competitive intelligence and translate insights into differentiation
• Participate in industry standards bodies and consortia; translate direction into actionable requirements
• Partner with global sales, field applications, and regional teams to support design-ins and evaluations
• Develop training materials and collateral for the field
• Coordinate across hardware, software, IP acquisition, and validation teams to keep milestones on track
• Drive buy-vs-build and architectural decisions for wireless IP blocks in collaboration with leadership

• 8+ years in semiconductor product marketing or product management
• Hands-on experience defining wireless SoC or RF IC products (BLE, UWB, Wi-Fi, SubGHz)
• Proven track record of launching products and generating revenue
• Experience defining product business plans and engaging with architecture and design teams
• Familiarity with competitive landscape in automotive connectivity semiconductors
• Strong financial acumen for revenue modeling and margins
• Excellent communication and cross-functional influence
• Willingness to travel 20% for customer visits and consortia meetings
