Sr Principal Product Engineer

In this role you drive system-level design solutions at the intersection of customer needs and Cadence’s EDA innovations. You will work closely with customers, R&D, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into integrated software solutions, qualifying issues, and delivering enhancements. You’ll help improve tool quality and performance while shaping product roadmaps. This is a hands-on, impact-oriented role with a strong customer and cross-team collaboration focus.

• Serve as the primary interface between customers and R&D for system-level design and analysis challenges
• Capture requirements and develop, test, and deliver software integrations addressing customer needs
• Evaluate and qualify technical issues using test cases and perform expert-level benchmarks
• Establish efficient workflows to improve system design and analysis tool quality and performance
• Resolve complex customer issues in collaboration with R&D, field teams, foundries, and global Product Engineers
• Define product requirements and enhancements in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders
• Partner with WFO to drive timely and professional product rollouts

• 9+ years of experience in extraction
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's or PhD preferred)
• Strong background in package and PCB design with EM analysis and solver technologies
• Hands-on experience with Clarity, Sigrity, APD, Allegro, or compatible third-party tools
• Experience with extraction in advanced technology nodes
• Knowledge of physical verification processes, including test & measurement and simulation correlation
• Familiarity with circuit simulation tools such as SystemSI, Spectre, Microwave Office, ADS, or HSPICE
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
