Product Engineering, Team Lead

In this role you lead the Product Engineering function, bridging R&D, Production and operations to deliver high-quality, compliant products. You will structure the back-end of R&D, manage processes and documentation, and guide the team through transitions from development to production. This hands-on leadership role emphasizes release processes, risk management and cross-functional collaboration in a visible on-site setting. You will shape productisation strategies and drive continuous improvement across ERP/PLM initiatives and digital workflows.

• Lead and develop the Product Engineering team
• Own and manage Product Engineering processes (design freezes, pilot series, iterative improvements, volume gates)
• Coordinate cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain and Product Management for launches
• Clarify technical issues, prioritise tasks/resources, ensure delivery against timelines and cost targets
• Ensure transparent communication on technical feasibility, risks, timelines and costs
• Own BOM management and continuous improvement
• Drive product improvements after process freezes
• Identify and close gaps between R&D and Operations
• Oversee realisation of SCS solutions (planning, construction, production)
• Facilitate lessons‑learned sessions after major SCS projects for future productisation
• Contribute to ERP and PLM development, modularisation and variant management, digitalisation of processes
• Manage change and improvement processes across departments
• Coordinate compliance activities for new products through pilot series
• Support CE and EMC/EMV-related activities
• Act as interface to compliance experts and support external sign-offs
• Take responsibility for internal production quality standards
• Establish systems to track/test data
• Ensure quality processes support production
• Coordinate and support production in quality issues
• Interface to ISO responsible person for process mapping/version control and closing gaps
• Drive documentation closure across Product Engineering and R&D

• Strong experience with high-tech products in a product or project engineering environment
• Proven people leadership and team coordination experience
• Organised, structured, pragmatic problem-solver
• Strong understanding of quality, compliance, release and industrialisation processes
• Background or training in Six Sigma, quality management or similar methodologies
• Experience in ISO-compliant environments
• Ability to balance requirements with delivering an excellent product
• Confident communicator at engineering-wide interface
