Program and Portfolio Manager – Transformation Office Transversal Team (m/f/d)

In this role, you drive the execution of IT strategy within METRO.digital’s Digital Transformation Office, overseeing complex cross-platform initiatives with a focus on delivery quality and governance. You align strategy with execution, ensure transparency on value and risk, and partner with platform and architecture leads to shape feasible roadmaps. You enable effective change adoption and executive-aligned governance to realize strategic outcomes.

• Own and refine a multi-year digital delivery roadmap across systems and platforms
• Oversee and challenge complex cross-platform initiatives with emphasis on project management and technical integrity
• Act as Program Manager for key initiatives with hands-on structuring, planning, and execution tracking
• Ensure end-to-end transparency on delivery, risks, trade-offs, and value realization
• Validate business case and track delivery of expected outcomes; enable rapid turnarounds when needed
• Establish governance structures including Steering Committees with executive stakeholders
• Collaborate with platform, architecture, and engineering leads to validate approaches and delivery plans
• Coordinate with CIO Office on priorities and ad-hoc needs
• Drive pragmatic change and ensure effective adoption of initiatives

• 7+ years of experience in enterprise IT or top-tier IT consultancy
• Proven track record managing complex, large-scale digital programs and portfolios
• Strong hands-on understanding of IT build and delivery (product, engineering, integration, infrastructure, modernization)
• Ability to bring structure to ambiguous topics and translate into actionable plans
• Hands-on, independent work style without formal team leadership
• Strong senior stakeholder management and reporting skills
• Very good fluency in English; German preferred
