Scientist MSAT Drug Product (f/m/d)

In this role you contribute to vaccine manufacturing by driving process development and optimization in Drug Product formulation, filling, and lyophilization. You will work with global teams to troubleshoot and improve processes, building robust laboratory workflows from small to pilot scale. You’ll report to the Manager MS&T Lab DP, delivering technical reports and supporting lifecycle management. This position offers hands-on experimentation, cross-functional collaboration, and opportunities to shape vaccine development at Takeda.

• Design, execute, and evaluate experiments across formulation, filling, lyophilization, and capping in small- and pilot-scale setups
• Collaborate with MS&T, CMC, QA, QC, and manufacturing to support process improvements and troubleshooting
• Identify experiment limitations, analyze causes, propose solutions, and prepare technical reports
• Utilize scale-down models and standardized methods for process characterization and optimization
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure quality compliance
• Support lab operations including procurement, inventory management, and introducing new technologies
• Assist in deviation investigations and continuous improvement projects

• MSc in scientific discipline with vaccine or biologics drug product development experience
• Strong expertise in formulation, filling, freeze-drying, and process optimization
• Hands-on experience in experimental design and troubleshooting
• Excellent communication skills in German and English
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, hands-on, and task-prioritizing with a collaborative mindset
• Experience in bioanalytical methods, live-virus vaccines, tech transfer, or cGMP manufacturing is a plus
