Senior Android Engineer, AdTech (m/f/d)

In this role you will design and build scalable mobile experiences for the Redcare platform, focusing on Retail Media and sponsored advertising. You will work within a cross-functional team to ship performant, user-centric Android solutions that integrate monetization with a high-quality shopping experience. You’ll influence the evolution of the Android ecosystem at scale and collaborate with product, backend, data, and ad teams. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape mobile experiences used by millions across Europe, within a mission-driven organization.

• Lead design and development of scalable Android apps using Kotlin and modern architecture (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture)
• Evolve Android architecture for scalability, modularity, testability, and maintainability
• Promote Jetpack Compose to build modern, reusable UIs
• Build reusable components for Retail Media and ads (Sponsored Products/Brands, native placements, banners, recommendations)
• Integrate Retail Media into product discovery and commerce journeys while balancing monetization with UX
• Collaborate with backend, data, product, and ad-server teams on APIs, tracking, campaigns, targeting, attribution
• Create configurable solutions for new ad formats and monetization use cases
• Ensure code quality, testing, modularization, observability, security, and performance; improve CI/CD and release processes
• Document architecture decisions and technical processes; guide critical technical choices across teams
• Improve app stability, performance, and reduce technical debt strategically
• Implement feature flags, experimentation, and A/B testing to validate new experiences

• Extensive Android development experience with strong Kotlin expertise
• Deep knowledge of Android SDK and modern development practices
• Hands-on with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines & Flow, DI (Hilt/Dagger), REST APIs (Retrofit/OkHttp)
• Strong understanding of clean architecture, design patterns, and modularization
• Experience with testing (JUnit, Espresso, MockK) and maintainable code
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern workflows
• Ability to own complex projects and deliver independently
• Focus on performance, scalability, and user experience
• Collaborative across teams with debugging and performance optimization skills
• Experience in Retail Media, AdTech, or large-scale e-commerce platforms
