Senior Field Service Engineer (f/m/d)

As Senior Field Service Engineer at Orbem, you act as the field’s top technical authority, owning complex incident resolution at customer sites and in our labs. You tailor maintenance approaches to site conditions, mentor junior engineers, and help build maintenance playbooks. You may lead installations and upgrades as senior surge capacity, ensuring reliable operation of Orbem’s MRI-related systems. • Own end-to-end diagnosis and resolution of complex service incidents at customer sites and internal labs without escalation
• Serve as the primary escalation point for difficult repairs and on-site supplier/partner coordination
• Tailor maintenance/troubleshooting approaches to local site conditions and document deviations
• Create and continuously improve maintenance/SOPs and checklists, driving the PDCA cycle
• Mentor and coach junior engineers on troubleshooting and technical judgment
• Lead Site Visit Checklist execution and technical problem-solving during installations/upgrades
• Provide technical feedback to Engineering, escalating risks and proposing solutions rather than just reporting data
• Own the technical resolution of high-stakes incidents from first response to root cause and documentation

• Significant hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving complex electrical, mechanical, or automation issues in industrial/field-service environments
• Strong knowledge of electrical diagrams, AutoCAD, and automation/networking concepts (PLC, Modbus)
• Ability to be the final escalation point and make autonomous decisions under time pressure
• Experience mentoring or guiding less experienced colleagues
• Experience creating or improving technical SOPs, checklists, or maintenance processes
• Willingness to travel extensively and respond to short-notice dispatches, including weekends or after-hours
• Hold or be willing to obtain relevant electrical/technical certifications (e.g. EFK-equivalent)
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Fluent in Italian (written and spoken)
