Overview

As an Automation Engineer in Mannheim, you will help design and mature specialized repair equipment for nuclear power plant components. You’ll work with a cross-functional team to develop control software and integrated systems used in demanding environments. You’ll drive prototype-to-maturity cycles, support testing and commissioning, and collaborate across sites and international teams to deliver reliable, safe tooling for critical components. This role offers hands-on impact in FOAK projects within a supportive, innovation-driven culture.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Design and develop control software, GUIs and control systems for repair equipment used on nuclear plant components
  • Integrate electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components into functional systems
  • Support development, testing and qualification of new equipment, including customer reviews and on-site activities
  • Perform commissioning of new equipment at internal or supplier facilities
  • Contribute to FOAK projects and drive prototypes to maturity
  • Prepare documentation such as Work Instructions, Development Programs, Test Reports, and Bills of Materials
  • Provide ongoing support for existing products, including troubleshooting and technician training
  • Collaborate across departments, sites, and international teams; foster cross-country collaboration
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Min. 3 years of experience in development, design and testing of specialized electromechanical equipment
  • German language proficiency (C2)
  • English language proficiency (B1/B2)
  • French language (optional)
  • Knowledge of at least one high-level programming language; Step7-SCL (PLC) and Object Pascal/C++ are assets
