Sr. Solutions Architect - Automotive

In this role you drive the technical and consumption strategy for the most complex customer engagements, influencing platform adoption and revenue. You own senior technical relationships and serve as the trusted authority on data and AI strategy. You lead multi-workload architecture efforts and enterprise-scale migrations, while mentoring your colleagues and shaping field-facing thought leadership. You align technical decisions with business outcomes, delivering high-impact, cross-functional solutions.

• Define and execute technical and consumption strategies for flagship accounts to boost platform adoption and growth
• Manage senior-level technical relationships as a trusted advisor on data and AI strategy
• Lead complex architecture engagements including multi-workload platforms, migrations, real-time systems, and AI/ML at scale
• Serve as an expert on the Databricks Platform and mentor other SAs across the team
• Develop competitive strategies to position Databricks against incumbents and emerging platforms
• Coordinate cross-functional teams (DSAs, SSAs, Partners, Product) to deliver enterprise-grade solutions
• Coach and develop junior SAs on depth, engagement, and use-case prioritization
• Contribute to Field Engineering thought leadership via customer-facing content, workshops, and community engagement

• 8+ years in solutions architecture, principal engineering, technical pre-sales leadership, or equivalent senior customer-facing role
• Expert-level coding proficiency in Python, SQL, and ideally Spark/PySpark (live coding assessment and platform build required)
• Deep enterprise data architecture expertise: distributed systems at scale, streaming/real-time, lakehouse patterns, data governance, cloud-native platforms
• Expert-level Databricks Platform knowledge (or equivalent depth in competing platforms with rapid learning)
• Declared technical specialization with depth (e.g., real-time architectures, ML/AI platforms, data governance, large-scale migrations)
• Proven track record of driving consumption growth and platform adoption in large accounts
• Executive presence to influence Directors, VPs, and C-level stakeholders on long-term data/AI strategy
• Experience leading competitive displacements and complex enterprise evaluations
• Strong strategic thinking linking technical architecture to business outcomes and revenue impact
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline (or equivalent experience)
