Director - INNOPAY - Germany

As Director at INNOPAY in Frankfurt, you lead and grow the Germany team within a specialist digital payments consultancy. You will bridge client delivery and commercial impact while developing people and expanding the business in the DACH region. You’ll shape propositions, win work, and mentor consultants, operating at the intersection of strategy, technology, and regulation in digital transactions.

• Advise senior clients on digital strategy and transformation across payments, Open Finance, digital identity, data sharing, and related ecosystems
• Lead engagements end-to-end from problem shaping to delivery and client relationship management
• Translate complexity across strategic, commercial, operational, regulatory, and technical dimensions into actionable recommendations and roadmaps
• Develop business collaboratively with INNOPAY and Oliver Wyman leaders to identify opportunities and win work
• Lead and develop the Frankfurt team, coaching consultants and serving as senior point of contact
• Shape next-market moves by developing new propositions and guiding INNOPAY’s evolving role in digital transactions
• Grow the business in Germany by strengthening client relationships and expanding network
• Build and nurture client trust, credibility, and long-term impact through high-quality delivery
• Contribute to team culture and capability development across the German chapter
• Collaborate with cross-border colleagues to leverage the Oliver Wyman network

• Commercial effectiveness in developing senior consulting relationships into opportunities
• Strong management consulting leadership with end-to-end engagement delivery experience
• Expertise in payments and digital transactions (payments strategy, Open Banking/Open Finance, digital identity, data sharing, APIs, digital ecosystems, regulation)
• Approximately 10+ years of relevant professional experience
• Proven experience leading consulting teams and developing others
• Fluency in German and English
• Willingness to spend multiple days weekly in Frankfurt and travel as needed
