Global Platform Commodity Leader - Mechanical

In this role you will shape and execute the global mechanical commodity strategy for BW Converting, aligning multiple sites under a unified sourcing approach. You will partner with site procurement and cross-functional teams to improve cost, quality, delivery, and supply continuity. The position offers impact across engineering, manufacturing, and finance through strategic supplier development and risk mitigation. You will lead cross-site initiatives and drive measurable cost and working-capital improvements, influencing enterprise-level decisions.

• Develop and implement a global commodity strategy for mechanical categories across BW Converting
• Create category roadmaps addressing supplier segmentation, cost competitiveness, capacity, quality, and continuity of supply
• Analyze platform-wide spend and demand to leverage common requirements across sites
• Establish platform preferred supplier strategy including supplier rationalization
• Lead supplier selection, development, and performance reviews with cross-functional teams
• Conduct competitive sourcing events and negotiate long-term and other commercial agreements
• Deliver productivity, cost-out, and working-capital improvements using total-cost-of-ownership
• Identify opportunities via supplier consolidation, localization, and value engineering
• Partner with Finance to validate savings and provide market outlooks
• Support component standardization and early supplier involvement with Engineering
• Identify and mitigate supplier, geopolitical, tariff, logistics, and quality risks
• Establish and track commodity-level performance measures and reporting
• Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, and decisions
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field; significant strategic sourcing experience in manufacturing
• Progressive experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or supplier management
• Experience sourcing mechanical components and managing supplier relationships across multiple locations
• Proven success in cost reductions using total-cost-of-ownership principles
• Experience in global/matrixed manufacturing environments preferred
• Experience supporting complex machinery or capital equipment preferred
• Strong knowledge of sourcing, contracting, and negotiation
