Overview

As Senior COA Scientist, you will lead the interpretation, documentation, and governance of COA scoring algorithms. You translate complex source materials into robust, implementable requirements and act as the bridge to statistics, product, engineering, and operations. You’ll develop reusable scientific assets and governance frameworks to standardize scoring deployment across models and technologies. You join a cross-functional team to ensure clinically meaningful and validated scoring solutions that support clinical research.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Provide scientific leadership across COA evaluation and implementation to ensure robust, clinically relevant outputs
  • Translate scoring manuals and instrument docs into implementation-ready requirements including score structures and transformations
  • Define and document missing-data handling, completion thresholds, and suppression rules
  • Document interpretation guidance for COA scores (severity bands, benchmarks)
  • Identify and resolve ambiguities in scoring methodology and escalate when needed
  • Collaborate with statisticians, programmers, product, and engineering to translate requirements into validated implementations
  • Investigate discrepancies and root causes of scoring issues to enable robust resolution
  • Serve as scientific point of contact for COA scoring logic and implementation feasibility
  • Contribute to standard templates, SOPs, checklists, and reusable scientific assets to improve quality and scalability
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Advanced degree (PhD, MSc, MPH, PharmD, psychology, outcomes research, public health, psychometrics, epidemiology, health sciences)
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in COA science or related scientific roles in pharma/CRO/healthcare research
  • Experience with instrument development, validation, psychometrics, or interpretation/meaningful-change work
  • Deep familiarity with COA concepts including domains, scoring structures, recall periods, missing-data rules, and interpretation
  • Experience interpreting and applying scoring methodologies for COA beyond simple sums or averages
  • Ability to translate scientific source materials into structured documentation and implementation guidance
  • Ability to evaluate ambiguous/incomplete source documentation and provide justified scientific decisions
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Excellent written English and documentation discipline
  • Experience supporting regulated or audit-sensitive clinical workflows
