Lead Architect - Snowflake (all genders, full-/part-time)

As Snowflake Lead Architect for Finance, you will shape the Data & AI landscape for enabling functions by building and governing a cloud-native analytics platform on Snowflake. You’ll drive finance data products, design scalable data architecture, and mentor teams while aligning with IT strategy. This role offers impact across Finance, HR, Procurement, and Legal, delivering actionable insights and cost-aware, reliable data solutions. You’ll engage across networks, influence technology choices, and raise the bar for governance and delivery.

• Design and modernize the financial reporting and analytics architecture
• Lead the implementation of the Data Management Platform on Snowflake
• Drive Finance Data Product development and cloud-native analytics solutions
• Establish governance, reliability, and delivery standards across Enabling Functions
• Mentor colleagues, engage internal/external stakeholders, and share knowledge
• Guide development teams and partners in selecting appropriate technology
• Monitor architecture metrics and KPIs for continuous improvement
• Conduct technology scouting, cost transparency, and optimization efforts
• Support RFPs and host knowledge-sharing sessions
• Represent the team at internal and external events

• University degree in IT, CS, Finance, or related field
• Extensive experience in data engineering, design, and analytics in a global setting
• Expert in Snowflake with strong SQL and dbt experience
• Senior knowledge of Data Warehousing, Data Vault, and Dimensional Modeling
• Deep knowledge of financial processes and core datasets
• Strong cloud skills on AWS or Azure
• Proficiency with data integration tools (dbt, Fivetran)
• Programming experience in Spark, Kafka, Python
• Experience with agentic AI tools in enterprise workflows
• Familiarity with platforms like Palantir Foundry or SAP BW a plus
• DevOps skills: CI/CD, Terraform, monitoring, release management
• Experience in Enterprise Data Architecture, governance, security
• Proven technical leadership in Agile and mentoring teams
• Ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences
• English excellent; German a plus
