Principal AI/ ML Algorithm Development Engineer - Battery Insights

In this role you lead the end-to-end architecture for battery insights algorithms and their production integration within embedded systems. You bridge algorithm development with system-level software, guiding cross-functional teams toward scalable, maintainable, and production-ready solutions. You will shape modular architectures, define interfaces, and ensure deployments align with product requirements and real-time constraints. This is a technical leadership role at the BLISS team driving safer, smarter energy systems for automotive electrification.

• Own end-to-end algorithm and software architecture for battery insights solutions
• Define modular, scalable architecture patterns and interfaces across algorithm, embedded SW, and system layers
• Lead development of advanced battery algorithms combining signal processing, AI/ML, modeling, and electrochemistry
• Translate algorithms into production-ready designs for embedded and real-time systems, collaborating with embedded SW teams
• Provide cross-functional technical leadership to align architecture across algorithm, embedded software, systems, and hardware
• Guide projects from concept to deployment and drive risk mitigation at the architecture level
• Contribute to frameworks, tools, and best practices for algorithm deployment
• Mentor engineers in algorithm development and system-level design thinking
• Influence engineering excellence in architecture, modularity, and production-readiness

• 12+ years of industry experience with significant algorithm development and demonstrated software or system architecture responsibility
• Proven ability to define and own architecture for deployed systems beyond just algorithms
• Strong background in: algorithm development, machine learning/AI, signal processing and estimation, mathematical modeling and simulation, control systems
• Experience translating algorithms into production or embedded software environments
• Solid understanding of software architecture principles, embedded and real-time system constraints
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and Python (NumPy, SciPy, PyTorch)
• Ability to operate across cross-functional teams and complex system boundaries
