Overview

As a Senior Edge AI & Robotics Engineer at Aptiv, you will lead the deployment and scaling of AI workloads on embedded and edge platforms for autonomous systems and intelligent machines. You’ll bridge AI, embedded software, and hardware architecture to deliver production-ready solutions under real-world constraints. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize performance, latency, power, and safety at the edge. This role offers a chance to shape edge AI for robotics and automation in a fast-moving, technically diverse environment.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions on embedded and edge computing platforms
  • Optimize inference performance across CPU, GPU, NPU, DSP, FPGA, and heterogeneous SoC architectures
  • Build scalable Edge AI software pipelines for computer vision, sensor fusion, multimodal AI, and real-time decision-making
  • Deploy and optimize models using frameworks such as TensorRT, ONNX Runtime, OpenVINO, TFLite, TVM, or equivalent
  • Drive model optimization through quantization, pruning, compression, distillation, and hardware acceleration techniques
  • Develop reusable software frameworks and deployment workflows across multiple product lines and hardware platforms
  • Develop high-performance C/C++ software for embedded/edge AI
  • Optimize memory, power, startup time, and throughput; design portable architectures
  • Work with Linux-based embedded systems, RTOS, containers, and cross-compilation tools
  • Collaborate with hardware teams to influence compute architecture and sensor integration
  • Define benchmarking, profiling, and validation strategies for edge AI applications
  • Establish performance, reliability, robustness, and scalability metrics
  • Support transition from research prototypes to production-grade software
  • Contribute to Edge AI solutions in robotics, autonomous systems, and intelligent machines
  • Assist integration with robotics middleware and autonomy stacks where applicable
  • Collaborate with robotics teams on perception, localization, planning, and control powered by Edge AI
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • 5+ years of experience deploying AI/ML workloads on embedded/edge platforms
  • Experience with NVIDIA Jetson, Qualcomm, TI, NXP, Renesas, AMD, Intel or similar platforms
  • Expert level proficiency in C/C++ and Python
  • Hands-on experience with AI model deployment on resource-constrained systems
  • Deep understanding of AI inference frameworks and heterogeneous compute architectures
  • Experience with Linux-based embedded systems and cross-compilation workflows
  • Strong system-level performance optimization, profiling, and debugging
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts across multidisciplinary teams
