Overview

As a Senior Robotics Simulation Engineer at Aptiv, you build and maintain high‑fidelity simulation environments, digital twins, and validation frameworks to accelerate development of autonomous mobile robots and drones. You enable rapid AI model training and robust perception, localization, planning, and control before real-world deployment, collaborating with perception and hardware teams to bridge sim-to-real gaps. You will shape scalable simulation infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to support multi‑robot platforms and diverse environments.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Design and maintain high‑fidelity AMR and drone simulators using Isaac Sim, Gazebo, ROS 2, and NVIDIA Omniverse
  • Create digital twins of warehouse/manufacturing environments for development, testing, and demonstrations
  • Model sensors (Radar, cameras, Lidar, IMU, GPS, radar depth) with realistic noise and environmental effects
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines for robotics software validation and deployment
  • Generate synthetic datasets for AI, perception, and navigation training and validation
  • Build metrics and tooling to evaluate simulation fidelity and sim‑to‑real performance
  • Collaborate with autonomy and controls teams to validate perception, localization, mapping, planning, and motion control at scale
  • Develop large‑scale scenario generation and regression testing for safety and reliability
  • Support HIL, SIL, and MIL testing workflows
  • Partner with product and customer teams to reproduce field issues in simulation for root‑cause analysis
  • Contribute to the simulation strategy and technology roadmap for Aptiv Robotics
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • 5+ years of experience in building simulation environments for robotics or related domains
  • Strong programming skills in Python and C++
  • Hands-on experience with ROS 2 and modern robotics software architectures
  • Experience with NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Omniverse, Gazebo, Webots, Unity, or Unreal Engine
  • Deep understanding of perception, localization, mapping, motion planning, controls, and sensor fusion
  • Experience modeling robotic sensors and vehicle dynamics
  • Hands-on experience with Blender, 3D modeling tools, or CAD software for simulation assets
  • Familiarity with cloud-based simulation, distributed testing, and large‑scale scenario execution
