Senior IT/OT Engineer (m/f/d)

Overview

In this role you lead a project team to realize network and cybersecurity requirements for Fluence’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) integrations with TSO SCADA. You act as the Subject Matter Expert on Cybersecurity, Network, and related devices, guiding field engineers and coordinating with clients and sub-contractors. You’ll develop and maintain network documentation, drive security-driven designs, and optimize commissioning through standardized testing. Your work supports secure, scalable deployments across the EMEA region and contributes to Fluence’s mission of a resilient, low-carbon grid.

Verantwortungsbereiche

Lead the project team to realize project-specific network and cybersecurity requirements
Develop and maintain documentation of network infrastructure and cybersecurity strategies
Guide field engineers during commissioning/testing on network-related issues
Manage interface with clients and sub-contractors to ensure network compliance
Develop standardized FAT/SAT test procedures and participate in hands-on testing
Maintain change control documentation and keep up-to-date with product developments
Provide reporting and support to leadership on performance and strategy
Travel throughout EMEA as required

Zentrale Anforderungen

Minimum 5 years ofOT/Networking experience in power utility or related industry
Experience with EMS/SCADA systems in electricity transmission/distribution
Expertise in OSI models and deploying network configurations
Expertise in remote access VPN, site-to-site VPN, Routers, Firewalls, Switches (Cisco + industrial), SD-WAN, Meraki
Linux-based systems experience; Python and shell/bash scripting; GitHub
Knowledge of AWS, Openstack, Docker
Experience with high voltage equipment: inverters, transformers, I/O racks, telecommunications, controllers
Solution-oriented mindset and good communication skills
Fluency in English; German/other language skills beneficial
