Senior Staff Engineer Digital Concept (f/m/div)

In this Senior Staff Engineer role, you will shape the next-generation motor-control SoC architecture and drive scalable, safe, and innovative solutions from concept to silicon. You’ll collaborate with product and marketing teams to translate requirements into solid hardware-software specs and lead model-centric development to validate design choices early. The role includes integrating AI-assisted methods to accelerate exploration and aligning robotics-oriented system design with automotive/industrial standards. This position offers a chance to influence cutting-edge motor control, safety, and cybersecurity architecture in a global semiconductor leader.

• Shape the architecture definition of next-gen motor control SoC for scalability and robustness
• Translate product requirements into hardware/software specifications
• Develop modular platform concepts in collaboration with product teams
• Lead model-centric development; maintain system-level models to validate architecture
• Introduce AI-assisted methods to accelerate architectural exploration and analysis
• Drive robotics-aware system design for next-gen robotic platforms
• Define and integrate Ethernet, SPI, I2C, CAN, and LIN interfaces into SoC architectures
• Collaborate with technical marketing to transfer knowledge to the SoC design team
• Create and maintain technical documentation for Hardware and Safety/Cybersecurity Architecture (ISO 26262) compliance

• Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• At least 5 years in digital SoC architecture, concept, or design engineering
• Deep knowledge of digital hardware architecture, RTL design, and system-level integration
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and aligning concept, design, and application engineering
• Hands-on with model-centric development methods (MATLAB/Simulink, SystemC, or equivalent)
• Working knowledge of AI tools for concept work (automated design space exploration, requirement traceability)
• Knowledge of Chip Integration, packaging, and assembly (crosstalk/interference)
• Knowledge of safety analysis methods (FTA, DFA, FMEDA, HAZOP) and vehicle cybersecurity ISO/SAE 21434; ISO 26262 is a plus
• Familiarity with robotics system architectures and motor control in autonomous/collaborative robots
• Hands-on with Ethernet-based stacks and automotive interfaces (e.g., 100BASE-T1, AVB/TSN)
• Fluency in English; German a plus
