Sr. Manager, AI Forward Deployed Engineering (AI-FDE)

In this role you will lead and scale Databricks’ AI FDE team across Europe, driving AI/ML transformations for enterprise customers. You will build a high-performance, cross-functional services group, cultivate executive relationships, and align with field, product, and GTM teams to shape delivery and product strategy. Your work will influence long-term growth, standardised engagement models, and strategic accounts. This is a high-impact leadership position at the intersection of AI delivery and customer success.

• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing AI/ML professional services team with scalable processes
• Develop executive relationships with EMEA customers and partners (VP+, CIO/CDO) and act as trusted advisor during AI transformations
• Coordinate with Field Engineering and Sales to define joint strategies for strategic accounts and ensure aligned delivery across functions
• Lead strategic AI PS initiatives, develop practice, and create reusable solutions for repeatable delivery
• Shape cross-functional collaboration by feeding customer insights to Product, R&D, and GTM to influence roadmaps
• Own OKRs for AI-services led accounts, revenue, utilization, and public references
• Represent Databricks as a thought leader in AI/ML

• Experience in managing, hiring, and scaling teams of data scientists/ML engineers and leaders
• Ability to scope, guide, and sell technical engagements; manage escalations; ensure delivery in enterprise environments
• Deep technical expertise in ML, GenAI, and data science; commitment to staying current in the field
• Proven track record of leading teams delivering cutting-edge production ML in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience defining programs with senior executive stakeholders and building trust in complex enterprise engagements
• Demonstrated cross-functional leadership with Sales, Product, and GTM to drive business impact

• Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience
• Preferred: experience in customer-facing consulting or professional services leadership; experience with Databricks
