Overview

In this Engineering Manager role, you will lead and grow a high-performing engineering team focused on vacuum technology. You’ll drive agile product development to shorten cycles and improve cross-functional collaboration, while upholding design excellence, manufacturability, and serviceability. You’ll shape a scalable team, standardize processes, and embed KPIs to ensure accountable, high-impact delivery. This position offers the chance to influence long-term technology roadmaps and contribute to a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering organization across geographies
  • Embed agile principles to accelerate product development and time-to-market
  • Ensure design quality, manufacturability, and serviceability in all products
  • Standardize processes and tools for consistency and efficiency
  • Define and track KPIs to monitor progress and accountability
  • Drive disciplined project execution and risk management across development phases
  • Promote design for service and sustainability in new products
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with procurement, production, logistics, and service
  • Invest in talent development through mentoring, training, and succession planning
  • Align engineering strategies with long-term footprint and technology roadmaps (Project Purple)
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Continuously advance vacuum technology expertise to differentiate products
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, physics, or an equivalent field
  • Several years of relevant R&D experience in an industrial setting
  • Proven leadership or conceptual roles
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset
  • Extensive experience leading and developing employees and cross-functional teams
  • Analytical understanding of cost structures, lead times, inventory, and investment decisions
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills at all organizational levels
  • High energy and motivation
  • Very good English and excellent German (spoken and written)
