Sr Mechanical Designer, Amazon Robotics

In this role you will shape the next generation of robotic systems at Amazon Robotics. You will work within cross-functional teams to define architectures, drive product design, and roadmap development for scalable, safe automation. You will tackle complex mechatronics challenges, translating ambiguity into concrete designs and production-ready solutions. This is an opportunity to influence robotics across manipulation, locomotion, and human-robot interaction at a massive scale.

• Own the delivery of robotic products on time, within budget and target performance
• Scope and manage multiple technical projects from concept to production
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve and validate designs (specification, prototyping, validation, testing)
• Coordinate with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and vendors for smooth production transition
• Create requirements, functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures
• Demonstrate thorough engineering analysis in decision making
• Mentor colleagues

• SolidWorks or similar CAD experience and best practices for part design and advanced assemblies
• Experience identifying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying motor controls (motor starters, VFDs, DC drives)
• Experience with precision torque, measurement and inspection devices (torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical inspection devices, multimeters)
