Forward Deployed Engineer (EMEA)

As a founding Forward Deployed Engineer in Munich, you will embed with strategic customers to deliver production-ready software and custom integrations. You shape solutions at the boundary of Applied’s platform and the customer environment, contributing to roadmap input from field feedback. You will own end-to-end delivery, ship new features, and build tools that enable customer success, all while traveling across DACH and EMEA. This role offers high ownership, direct customer impact, and a chance to help define how FDE operates in EMEA.

• Own end-to-end delivery from framing to production rollout inside customer environments
• Ship production software through net-new features, standalone apps, and integrations
• Embed with customers to understand constraints, debug issues, and ensure outcomes
• Bridge product gaps by building custom solutions and feeding requirements back to product/engineering
• Set the bar for deployment patterns and internal playbooks within the FDE function
• Travel regularly (25–40%) to customer sites across Germany and EMEA

• 4+ years of software engineering with a track record of shipping production code
• Full-stack development across backend, API, and frontend as needed
• Experience working directly with customers in high-stakes, technical environments
• Ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous situations and define the path forward
• Strong English communication skills with engineers and senior stakeholders
