Process Control Engineer (f/m/d)

In this SCADA-focused role you will design, review and deliver monitoring and control systems for utility-scale renewable energy plants and grid services across Europe, with a Germany emphasis. You will coordinate regional engineering and procurement, interfacing with grid operators and market agents to ensure code compliance and seamless handover to operations. You’ll support construction, commissioning, and ongoing asset management, while keeping up to date with SCADA developments. • Design and review SCADA systems for renewable energy plants and grid services (Germany focus)
• Act as lead coordinator for regional engineering and procurement teams for SCADA hardware and suppliers
• Coordinate with Grid Operators and Market Agents for grid code testing and compliance
• Support project management and field teams during construction and commissioning
• Produce SCADA handover documentation for O&M and Asset Management teams
• Liaise with manufacturers across project stages
• Participate in internal Expert Groups to maintain specifications and standards
• Maintain up-to-date SCADA knowledge and apply new developments to projects

• University degree in engineering or similar technical field
• Experience of SCADA system design and application
• Knowledge of IEC 60870 and IEC 61850, HV substation networks, and integration with third-party SCADA systems
• Experience with PV, wind and energy storage SCADA design and operation
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix basics, SSH/RDP, Modbus TCP/IP/RTU, and related tools (modpoll, modbus poll)
• Fluency in German and English
• Understanding of electrical and control diagrams and CAD tools
• Experience in the Renewable Energy industry in technical/engineering roles
• Knowledge of Substation networks, communications hardware, and industrial protocols
• Desirable: basic PLCs and Hybrid Controllers knowledge
